What are tooth veneers?

Veneers, or tooth covers, are thin sheets of ceramic designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your smile. They can be designed, coloured and customised to compliment each individual so as to improve your existing smile, while still looking natural.

Dental veneers at Simply Teeth

Veneers can be an effective treatment option to enhance your smile. They can be shaped, coloured, and designed to fit an individual smile, closing gaps, covering discolouration, and fixing chipped or worn teeth.

Our team at Simply-Teeth is dedicated to bringing you all the treatment options modern dentistry has to offer by:

  • Using the latest CEREC CAD-CAM technology, we craft beautiful, personalised, and bright ceramic veneers for you, often in a single visit!
  • We aim for a more comfortable and streamlined experience, skipping traditional impressions and temporary veneers whenever possible.
Please note: Not all patients are suitable for same-day treatment, and results vary depending on individual factors.

What can dental veneers be used for?

  • Chipped or worn teeth – a simple way to fix chipped or worn teeth is to place a veneer on the front surface, which can be shaped, whitened, and designed in any way we desire, resulting in a healthier, younger and brighter smile.
  • Discoloured or stained teeth – with age, teeth naturally become more yellow, and almost all food and drinks can stain or discolour teeth. A long-term solution to address stained or discoloured teeth is to place a veneer on the front surface. The veneer’s shiny glaze layer helps protect it from discolouration, contributing to its durability.
  • Crooked, irregular or misaligned teeth – in some cases where one tooth may be only slightly out of place, or does not match the other teeth, a veneer can be shaped to match the rest of the teeth and placed on the front surface of the irregular tooth, bringing it into a straight line with all other teeth, as well as matching them in shape, form and colour. A less extensive approach for cosmetic adjustments to a few or a single front tooth, compared to comprehensive orthodontic treatment. The result is also immediate, without the commitment and time necessary when having braces!
  • Gaps between teeth – Gaps between the front teeth are often the first noticeable thing about a smile. If your teeth are reasonably straight, braces may seem too extravagant to fix a gap between the front teeth. Veneers can be shaped to close gaps between teeth by shaping and customising them to fit perfectly on the tooth and in the space available.

Do I need to have a consultation prior to the appointment?

Before beginning any cosmetic dental treatment, a consultation is essential. This crucial step allows us to thoroughly assess your dental health and have an in-depth discussion about your goals and expectations. During this time, we’ll review all suitable treatment options and clearly explain the benefits, risks, costs, and limitations of each. Only after this comprehensive assessment can we determine if veneers are the appropriate solution for your unique situation.

Direct (Composite) Veneers

If you are looking for a shorter term makeover, composite resin veneers may be your treatment of choice. They require less tooth preparation and are directly bonded to your tooth enamel for immediate results. In some cases, the can be altered and/or removed. In addition to this composite veneers are a fraction of the cost of ceramic veneers, making them even more affordable.

With recent advances in composite technology, composite veneers can be made to replicate natural tooth structure. Still not sure? Visit us for a smile consult and meet our professional team dedicated to meeting your smile needs!
